THE 🌞
THE 🌞
The warm embrace you hope for daily. THE SUN is a flowery cup of Ethiopian coffee with full, round fruity, chocolatey body. It takes a lot of energy to create light, but we're confident you'll be shining after enjoying a cup of this blend.
We source from Mustefa Abakeno, a smallholder with 18 hectares of land near Agaro in the Jimma Zone of Western Ethiopia. His farm is located at 2,040masl and is planted with coffee varieties from the Jimma research centre. Mustefa has a small disc pulper that he uses to wash-process half of his coffee; the other half is dried as a natural.
Due to a lack of water in the area and limited space to ferment the coffee, Mustefa ferments the pulped coffee for a short period (8 hours) before he moves it to his drying beds (for 13-16 days), and the result is something like a light honey. The naturals take 24-27 days to dry on the African (raised) beds.
Notes:Â stone fruits-like peach & dark cherry, pineapple, lime, full and round dark chocolate in a cup.
Origin: Gomma, Jimma region of Ethiopia. The plantations are located at an altitude of 2000-2100 MASL, that give the characteristic cup profile rich of floral notes, stone fruit and round citric acidity.
Beans with a story
